Project Information
OMS Engineering was commissioned to design a slurry pump header tank and two belt splicing decks within an established crushing and screening plant. The concept was challenged by an extremely constrained brownfield environment and the absence of drawings, prompting OMS Engineering’s involvement from the preliminary stages through to detailed design as well as support to fabrication and installation.
The initial phase of the project necessitated laser scanning and photographing the site, and using the acquired data to background model the relevant plant and constraints. This model then served as the foundation for designing new equipment to meet the client’s requirements, clash detection and the seamless integration with the existing structure.
Further, our role extended strength and natural frequency assessments of the new equipment. This comprehensive approach resulted in three optimized solutions, prefabricated off-site and installed with minimal effort and downtime.
